Jesus is The Christ

"We talk of Christ, we rejoice in Christ, we preach of Christ, we prophesy of Christ, and we write according to our prophecies, that our children may know to what source they may look for a remission of their sins." -1 Nephi 25:26 (The Book of Mormon)

I am an authorized minister of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. We are often referred to as "Mormons" because of the Book of Mormon. That cannon of scripture was brought forth out of obscurity by the Prophet Joseph Smith in 1823 after being visited by an angel of the Lord who called himself Moroni.

Mormonism is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. The Book of Mormon not only validates and supports the Bible, it assures men and women everywhere that Jesus is the author of our Salvation. He is the one and only true God.

One correction: You said Joseph Smith brought the Book of Mormon forth out of obscurity. No, he didn't. He only brought it forth out of the earth. The "saints" of Joseph's time were condemned for treating it lightly and therefore walking in darkness at noon day. Pres. Benson declared the church was STILL under that condemnation. The Book of Mormon remains a sealed book to many Mormons yet, meaning WE DON'T UNDERSTAND IT!!! Todd Christofferson showed his profound ignorance of the warning Christ gives to not add to or take away from his doctrine in his April 2012 Conference talk in which he quoted the doctrine of Christ as found in 3 Nephi 11 and then went on to explain the proper way to ADD TO the doctrine.... Uhhhhhhhhh..... Even after saying this, "Like all that comes from God, this doctrine is pure, it is clear, it is easy to understand—even for a child." So, if it is so easy to understand even a child can, how did he miss the part about not adding to or taking away from Christ's doctrine????
Then, Christofferson goes on to declare that the Lord and Redeemer had done his work and given his power to men (see 2 Npehi 28:5)termed by their congregations "prophets, seers, and revelators" who are endowed with special spiritual endowment they alone are ENTITLED to. Never mind that according to the Book of Mormon definition of a seer (see Mosiah 8:13)none of these guys qualify. Never mind that the Book of Mormon also declares that God is no respecter of persons and that ANY who diligently seek shall find and the mysteries of God will be unfolded to them. (see 1 Nephi 10:17-22) So, the Book of Mormon is coming out of obscurity for me. It was written to bring hidden things out of darkness and into light. It is exposing to me the false precepts taught in the Mormon Church under the pretended authority of Jesus Christ. Darkness and apostasy has covered the earth and blinded my eyes in these last days. The Book of Mormon was written for our day to bring the truth to the deaf and the blind--who are only so because they are taught false precepts by men who keep their "counsels in the dark" thinking, "who seeth us, who knoweth us." (see 2 Nephi 27:27)I was blind, but now I see the priestcrafts, the envy, the malice, the institutional shunning of those seeking salvation on account of the "courseness of their apparel" or their lack of money to buy salvation. (see 2 Nephi 26:20-33)
2 Nephi 3:5 is being fulfilled now "that the Messiah should be made manifest unto them in the latter days, in the spirit of power, unto the bringing of them out of darkness unto light—yea, out of HIDDEN DARKNESS and out of captivity unto freedom."
The truth has been in hidden darkness even from Joseph's time. But now, the truth is coming to light and those who will listen are being brought out of captivity unto freedom.
